Are Liver and Lung Treats Good for Dogs?
In shortOrgan treats like liver and lung have a rich aroma dogs love and crumble easily into a meal topper. But liver is high in vitamin A, so too much can lead to excess — keep liver treats small and rotate them with other treats.
Liver treats
Liver's strong aroma wins over even picky eaters. Fully dried at high temperature, it loses moisture and becomes dense and dark — a natural result. Because it is rich in vitamin A, a few pieces a day is plenty.
Lung treats
Lung is full of tiny air pockets, so it dries light and crunchy. It breaks apart easily by hand, making it great for small dogs, seniors and bite-sized training rewards.
Feeding tips
- Start with one or two pieces and check the stool
- Crumble over food as a topper
- Rotate liver, lung and jerky
